15 Years of Divine Battles: InnoGames' strategy hit Grepolis celebrates anniversary with big in-game event
The year is 2009. WhatsApp sees the light of day. Windows 7 gets installed on computers worldwide. In the same year, Hamburg-based game developer InnoGames releases Grepolis, its second strategy game and third game ever. It quickly becomes clear that the success of the company's first game, Tribal Wars, was no coincidence - InnoGames knows build-up strategy games.
No Greek tragedy: 15 years after its launch, Grepolis is an award-winning classic of the genre that continues to delight tens of thousands of strategy fans worldwide, a third of whom have been playing for 10 years or more.
To mark the game's anniversary and to thank the community for its loyalty, InnoGames is hosting a special in-game event from 26 September to 10 October, 2024. Players can put their knowledge of the history and development of the game to the test in a quiz. A total of 75 questions have been collected for the purpose, as a lot of exciting things have happened in the last 15 years. All answers must be guessed, which means that everyone can take part and win. Each participant will receive 15 main prizes over the duration of the event - one for each day. The more correct answers a player gives, the more often he or she can redraw the main prizes for even better rewards.
Just in time for the anniversary, InnoGames has also released a brand new cinematic Grepolis trailer that impressively showcases the ancient Greek world of Grepolis.
