Elvenar anniversary: 10 years of cozy city-building
The year is 2015. The Apple Watch is conquering the first wrists. Google becomes Alphabet. Meanwhile, Hamburg-based game developer InnoGames is all about elves and magic: the browser game Elvenar appears and quickly enchants a target group that appreciates coziness just as much as city building games.
Ricardo Dos Santos Almeida, Community Manager of Elvenar, comments: "Elvenar is full of wonders and magical creatures and is simply one of our most beautiful and captivating games. It's easy for players to leave their everyday lives behind, build the city of their dreams and immerse themselves in a magical world full of secrets and characters with touching stories. At the same time, Elvenar refrains from focusing on the idea of competition that makes up so much of the appeal of Tribal Wars, Grepolis and Forge of Empires. In short, Elvenar is as wonderful as it is cozy."
Hendrik Klindworth, CEO and co-founder of InnoGames, adds: "Elvenar was the perfect addition to our portfolio at the time, which was very successful in attracting male builders who wanted to compete with others in historical settings. Elvenar, on the other hand, was intended to be a game that would not only appeal to fantasy fans and female players, but also to those who are happiest when they can realize their idea of the perfect city at their own pace, undisturbed by others. This approach has led to long-term success, proving once again that making games that last for decades is our key competencies. Heartfelt thanks to everyone who has made the game what it is. Elvenar has many years ahead of it and I look forward to seeing where the journey takes us."
Even without the use of dark magic, 10 years after its launch, Elvenar is a classic of the city-building genre with a lifetime revenue of over 200 million euros. Thanks to 240,000+ monthly active players, of which around 40% have been with the game for 5 years or more, Elvenar is still alive and kicking. Further stats about the game can be found in the attached graphic entitled “Happy Birthday!" - Outstanding Facts”.
To mark the anniversary, the Elvenar Game Team has reviewed the last decade in a birthday video (see below). In addition, all players will receive a new building named “Timeless Ribbon” as a gift, which was previously selected by the community in a vote.

About Elvenar
Elvenar (www.elvenar.com) is a city-building Strategy-MMO set in a fantasy world. Tasked with creating a flourishing city, players can choose between Elves or Humans. This choice affects the appearance of the cities and their inhabitants, as well as the available technologies and units. The elves live in the midst of magical creatures in harmony with nature, while humans are ambitious builders and engineers. Between managing resources, leveling up buildings and unlocking new perks, players should also pay attention to the multiplayer-map if they want to find valuable relics. Yet, players might have to fight numerous fantastic creatures for them. Since its release in May 2015, Elvenar has been receiving continuous content updates, and as a cross-platform title, players can switch between browser, iOS and Android devices at any time.
