InnoGames Brings in Philip Bang as New Studio Director
InnoGames has hired Philip Bang to be Studio Director as part of a recent restructuring within its game development and live game management. In this role, Bang will be responsible for the developer’s current titles, Tribal Wars and Grepolis, as well as other strategy games in the works.
The new structure divides all InnoGames games into three specific studios at the company’s Hamburg headquarters, and one studio based in Dusseldorf. Within each studio, established cross-platform titles such as Forge of Empires will work alongside new projects of various genres, and at all stages of production.
“Leading several very distinct teams will be a challenge, and a great opportunity. We have the chance to learn from each other and benefit from each other’s success. I’m looking forward to being part of that success,” says Bang.
Chief Product Officer Armin Busen explains the decision: “Philip’s character and long-time professional experience in the gaming industry fit well to InnoGames and this role. We’re confident he will be a key player in reaching our ambitious growth goals in the years to come.” He goes on to clarify the restructuring benefits: “The new studio structure enables us to have scalable and controlled growth on several gaming platforms simultaneously – all while maintaining a clear focus. We at InnoGames believe in the power of small teams, combining young talent and the very experienced to build great games for various platforms. The new studio structure enables us to successfully do this.”
Previously, Bang was Product Lead at Wooga GmbH, a senior producer and managing director at Bigpoint GmbH, and a producer at Replay Studios.
