InnoGames secures future viability through strategic realignment

Hamburg-based game developer InnoGames is undertaking a comprehensive strategic organizational realignment to secure its position as a competitive leader in the gaming industry in a changing market landscape. The transformation will help the company reach more players with innovative game concepts and make its work on its current games more efficient.

"The market situation for games has changed rapidly in the last 12 months. To be able to continue to invest in the future on a scale and with a flexibility that reflects market developments, we need to transform the company to make it more efficient and agile. In addition to restructuring our central service teams, we will, among other things, optimize the sizes of the development teams so that we can continue to provide each of our core titles with the support it needs to be successful. We will also invest in even more innovative game concepts that will help us reach and entertain new players. The new structure of the company means that we unfortunately have to part with 75 highly valued members of our team. This decision was of course very difficult for us, and we deeply regret the loss of each and every employee," explained Hendrik Klindworth, CEO and co-founder of InnoGames.

Michael Zillmer, COO and co-founder, added: "Our aim is to support those affected as best we can. That's why we offer them – in addition to severance pay – the option of switching to a transfer company, from which they will continue to receive 80% of their last salary for 6 months. There they will receive comprehensive support from experts and, if necessary, assistance in finding a new job and gaining further qualifications. With this solution we enable everyone to find their bearings in peace and spare the foreign employees from being forced to act at short notice because of their residence permits."
